Geek [Supplies] – The Hobbit

Welcome to Geek [Supplies] where friends go on unexpected journeys together. The world of J.R.R. Tolkien is well loved by many many people. One of the ways I know that? The shear volume of funny, clever and amazing things I found for this post. To make my list manageable, I had to edit it to be shorter than Bilbo’s contract. Enjoy!

Mash-up T-Shirts

DesignsbyHumans Hobbit
This collection of t-shirts from Designs by Humans features various Hobbit mash-ups. Jurassic Park & Smaug by Sugarpoulty, Kermit & Bilbo by Kentcribbs, Sriracha & Smaug by Thehookshot, and How to Train Your Dragon & Bilbo by Loku.

 Art Prints

These art prints are some of the options available from society6. All three of these prints are named “The Hobbit”: Gandalf and Beorn by Albert Lewis, the map by Buzz Studios and last but not least Smaug over the company by WatercolorGirlArt.

THE Movie

The original hobbit movie

For those of us of a certain age, THIS movie is the only Hobbit movie that counts. When I think of hobbits it is these hobbits that I still picture in my minds eye.

Hobbit Feet

Our executive producer Megan often states that she is a Hobbit. I think she relates to frequency of meals and the fact that she hates to wear shoes — luckily she lives in Arizona. If you live in colder climates you might want to try out one of the above options. On the left a pair of comfy socks from Jinx and on the right a pair of comfy slippers from ThinkGeek.

I do not, repeat, DO NOT encourage or recommend that anyone smokes. I hate the habit and hate inhaling the smoke of others (although I do find pipe smoke the least offensive). But I DO encourage and recommend beautiful woodworking. And these pipes from MacQueenPipes on Etsy are truly beautiful. If you are addicted, at least you can feed your addition with an elegant White Wizard, Ranger or Dwarf pipe.

Chicken Coops

Yes, yes that is a chicken coop and if you truly loved your chickens you would provide them with a Hobbit Hole Chicken Coop. They come in the Lightfoot, Proudfoot and Harfoot editions. They also make awesome playhouses and doghouses.

Do you know of any Hobbit related must-haves? Make sure to share them in the comments!
